Eve is boggarting my Apple

Ok, so the other day I'm thinking it's time to spend some of my hard earned Second Life dough here in the real world.  Oh yes, I've been messing around in Second Life for a couple of years now.  Developed my building skills, started working with a couple of scripters and a person who's RL is all about marketing.  Anyway, to date we've netted around $500,000.00 in Linden dollars.

So I take L$100,000 and, at an exchange rate of something like L$265 to US$1, exchange it for just under US$360.00 after fees and whatever (nope, I'm not getting rich off of SL).  I bought an iTouch and a decent pair of speakers.

So why am I telling you this?  Because my limited exposure to the iTouch (can't pry it out of my wife's hands), makes it clear to me that Apple is well on its way to transforming how people interact with machines.  If you are using a Windows operating system right now and it's your bedtime, go to the "Start" button, located at the bottom left corner of your screen, to turn your computer off.

Hey You All!

This is my first posting.  So what is this blog going to be about?

The short answer would have to be: my take on the world of digital art.

The long answer: I'm a multimedia geek who lives primarily on the content development side of the industry.  I spend most of time making visuals, but I also design and produce multimedia projects that include written content, animation, video sound and programming. That makes me sound like a generalist.
So...I produce still imagery and illustration, websites, 2d and 3d animations, digital games and the like.  I scan things that I have created using tradition media. I also use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, After Effects, and Director.  Currently my programming ability is limited to Actionscrip, the language used with Flash, and Lingo, the language used with Director..  I use Maya, by Autodesk, to design, model, texture, light and animate 3d imagery.  That sounds like a lot to me.

So changing the long answer into a second short answer: This blog will be about art making with traditional and digital media, and issues related to how creative media and the world are shaping one another.

Hope it gets read.  Hope you enjoy it.
